Accessories
The Jeepster’s accessories dress up the already smart appearance of this sports phaeton. In addition to their appearance value, these accessories are highly practical-most of them increase driving safety and reduce the danger of accident. The accessories included radio, heater, non-glare inside mirror, spotlight, back-up lights, fog lights, outside rear view mirrors, deluxe tool kit, windshield washers, radiator bug screen, under-hood light.
The Jeepster is not a convertible… not a sedan… It’s a sports phaeton-in a class by itself. The Jeepster is a different type of vehicle-a sports car designed and built to provide the public with the utmost in performance, with unsurpassed economy.
It has a turning radius of only 17.6 feet, can turn a complete 35 foot circle.
Short wheelbase, compact fuctional design and quick steering response allows the Jeepster to be marked in small spaces-sports the larger cars must pass up.
In its time, the Jeepster is the lowest weight standard and tread car made in America-only 2544 lbs.
The Engine
“L”-head – 63 horsepower.
A smooth, light weight, economical engine-well balanced, with good power-to-weight ratio. Built to a conservative but thoroughly modern design, without radical or untried features. The culmination of the best in Willys-Overland engineering over the past ten years, including extensive research and development with the war-proved Jeep engine.
- Lightweight, cast aluminum pistons…give quick pick-up and better engine balance.
- Heavy, 3-bearing crankshaft…means long life and smooth performance.
- Full-length water jackets… provide more effective cooling.
- Rubber engine mountings…dampen vibration and make for quieter operation.
- Positive crank case ventilation…reduces oil dilution, helps eliminate sludge.
- Floating oil intake…draws off the clean top oil, leaves abrasive sediment at the bottom of the crankcase.
- Full pressure lubrication…to main bearings, connecting rods, timing gear and valve tappets. Pressure stream and splash system supply oil to other vital parts.
- Quick-warming thermostat…reduces warm-up period, maintains constant engine temperature.
- Combination fuel pump and vacuum booster assembly…assures adequate fuel supply and keeps windshield wipers operating at constant speed.
- Automatic Spark Advance…provides correct setting for varying speed and load conditions.
A smooth, level ride because of independent front wheel suspension, new low-pressure tires, rubber-insert springs airplane-type shock absorbers.
